GoPro Wi-Fi BacPac & Remote – Wirelessly Record Your Snowboarding For Instant Feedback

Just found this while looking around at the latest technology. I thought it was awesome so I’m going to share.

Ever wanted to record your own snowboarding, but you didn’t have a friend to film for you? How about have you ever wanted instant feedback on the ski slope to figure out what you did wrong on that last trick?

Well, you should check this out then:

What is it exactly?

It’s GoPro’s latest camera accessory, the GoPro Wi-Fi BacPac & Remote Combo Kit. Basically, it’s wireless controls for your GoPro paired with some fancy live streaming and viewing apps for your phone/tablet to watch what you just filmed.

Why is this awesome and useful to learn new snowboard tricks?

Recording yourself is by far one of the best ways to figure out what you’re doing wrong. However, it’s not always easy to convince a friend to film you when they want to be snowboarding, plus, you have to wait until you get home to review your footage.

With this, you can set up your GoPro and remote activate it to film yourself and also instantly check your footage on the spot using your phone. That means you can fix your mistakes on the hill, right then and there.

I could easily see myself setting it up on a jump or rail when I’m learning a new trick and using the playback feature and my phone to check my footage after each attempt to see what I did wrong. Instant feedback is awesome!

The GoPro Wi-Fi BacPac & Remote kit is retailing for $99.99 right now and you’ll still need to have a GoPro to use it so it’s a little pricy, but if you have the spare cash it might be a fun piece of tech to have for those snowboard trips.

  1. Went and got it from their website on the day of release. By now, I’ve tested it in a variety of settings, and I can certainly tell it’s a must-have. The only thing that concerns me at this point is when they release the iPhone app for live previews. That is one essential feature that the camera itself does not possess, and it was the only thing that held me back from getting the LCD BacPac. It’d be really nice of they manage to release the app before the upcoming season. :)
