Our Free Snowboard Gear Guide:

This Snowboard Workout Is Going To Suck But Will It Make Me A Stronger Rider?

So, I’ve basically taken the last season off snowboarding to work on some training courses that are coming up for Snomie.com, which means I also haven’t been keeping in shape.

I’m the first to admit I’ve gotten lazy with my exercises while I’ve been away from the slopes, so it’s time to change that before the NZ ski season starts.

I’ve decided to do P90X to get back in shape for snowboarding. My encouraging housemate has already bet me $50 that I’m not going to finish it.

For those unaware, P90X is basically a 90 day home workout routine, see the video below:

The rules of my P90X challenge:

  • No skipping any days in the 90 day routine
  • No crazy health supplements – the only thing extra that I’ll be taking daily is protein shakes.

I won’t be posting everyday about P90X, because this is a snowboard blog after all, but I will do the odd update about once a month. This way I think it’ll force me to keep going since you guys will know if I slack off.

I’ll be doing all the necessary before and after shots and there’ll be a final blog after the 90 days to see if it paid off and how good I think it was for a snowboard specific workout.

Wish me luck!

  1. Hey Jed , love the blog … How did this go ? Havnt seen any updates or maybe I’m just blind .

    • Thanks Ben! Challenge is still going. I’ve got another 2-3ish weeks to go roughly, put on a few kg of muscle which is not bad for a skinny guy like me who struggles to put on anything.

  2. How did it go, Jed? Did you finish it?
