Video – My Improvement From Season 1 Snowboarding To Season 5+

I was looking through my old camera and I found some really old footage from my first season on a snowboard.

Check out the difference between 1-2 months on a snowboard and 8+ seasons on a snowboard:

First season snowboarding (about 1-2 months in):

This is me trying to get MASSIVE air off a snowboard hip jump.

Five snowboard seasons and many falls later:

Why am I showing you this?

The point I’m trying to make is that these things don’t come overnight. It took me many seasons to get to where I am today, and even now after 8+ seasons, I have so many things I still need to improve with my riding.

It took a LONG time for me to start having any style when I jumped. Somewhere during that first season I started being able to grab and even then my grabs were ugly and rushed.

It wasn’t until the end of that first season that I could even put a grab into my tricks without it looking ugly.

The good news for you guys is that it gets easier for you. You have even more resources available to you than I ever did back when I first started snowboarding. That’s the great thing about snowboard training. The more our sport developments and advances, the better the training tips and lessons become.

So don’t get discouraged. Those new tricks, techniques and style will come with time and practice. Put in the work and I promise you’ll see results.
