I once had an argument with a housemate of mine who insisted that a big portion of people who love snowboarding do it because they like to show off tricks.
This couldn’t be further from the truth. Whether we sometimes show off or not doesn’t have anything to do with why we love snowboarding. We love snowboarding because of ‘the moment’.
'The Moment' is why we love snowboarding.
What’s ‘the moment’?
It’s that moment in time when everything clicks. It’s that moment when you’re just entirely focused on snowboarding and everything just feels right. If you love snowboarding, you know exactly what I mean.
There are times in snowboarding when everything seems to flow. It’s as if you’re just living in a perfect moment in time. Those are the moments that make us fall in love with snowboarding.
Whether we’re cruising down a green run or halfway popping a huge trick off a 70 foot jump, that moment makes us remember why we keep snowboarding.
It’s that indescribable feeling of happiness when you know, that at that moment in time, there’s nothing else you’d rather be doing than snowboarding.
Sure, there’s other great things about snowboarding, but if I had to give only one reason why I snowboard, this is it.
