I love the terrain park. In fact, 90% of the time you’ll probably find me in the terrain park. Unfortunately, there’s one thing I hate about the park:
Idiots who think they own the mountain.
I’m talking to all of the idiots who ride around the park cutting people off and just dropping in whenever you like. I don’t care if you can spin a 900 or if you can do a rodeo off a rail. It does not entitle you to treat the other riders like second class citizens.
It’s one thing to cut the line when someone is standing there and wasting time, I understand your frustrations when people waste time in the line up. However, it’s another thing to just ride straight through and cut off other people who have already dropped into the feature.
The majority of people you meet on the hill are nice, easy going people, especially among the upper tier of skill levels. However, there seems to be that small group of riders who seem to be on some sort of mission to make the beginners feel like they’re not welcome in the park.
I’ve had more than a few beginner friends get annoyed by this type of behaviour and honestly, I don’t blame them. They should be able to ride the park without constantly being cut off by better riders. Becoming a good rider doesn’t give you the ‘ok’ to cut beginners off.
Some of those beginners will one day become amazing riders and even if they never learn to boardslide properly, they’re still entitled to have fun in the park. You people who cut off the beginners and make them feel like they’re not welcome in the park should be ashamed.
